California 180 winds its way through the Sierra Nevada foothills on a beautiful summer afternoon. This is the area where the San Joaquin Valley, a major agricultural center for California and the United States, gives way to the rise of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

When I was 10, I saved up some money and bought my first camera, a Kodak point and shoot. I was instantly hooked.
