Description
Lake Shore Drive early on a spring morning in Chicago--The Windy City. Incorporated in 1837, this city of 2.7 million is the third largest in the United States. Chicago is a finance, industry, transportation, and telecommunications hub; it is also famous for its unique architecture, art scene, and music scene. The city rises from the shores of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Chicago River. Chicago is home to such landmarks as the Willis (formerly Sears) tower, the John Hancock Center, Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, and Chicago Union Station.
This is a view of Chicago I had never photographed before this morning. Lake Shore Drive passes North Avenue Beach on the northern fringe of downtown, with a small overpass providing a view of the John Hancock Center and northern portion of the city. The cloudless sky on this morning turned an intense blue, contrasting with the yellow and red of the lights of the cars on the highway. This photo would be right at home in any modern home or office; especially as a large, attention-grabbing centerpiece. It is available as a canvas print, framed print, acrylic print, wood print, metal print, art print, or greeting card. Licensing options are also available: see below.
