Description
Summer morning on a small pond in the Athabasca River Valley of Jasper National Park. Jasper is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, and is located in Alberta, approximately three hours west of Edmonton and six hours northwest of Calgary. Jasper is known for the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, its lakes, waterfalls, and mountains, and the the Athabasca River, which runs through much of the park. Near the center of the park is the town of Jasper, a popular ski and vacation destination.
Using a tree to frame Mount Edith Cavell in this photograph was something I had never tried before. I'm happy with the way it turned out. The clouds and mist rising off the pond came together on this morning for a spectacular sunrise. This photo is ideal for climbers, backpackers, alpine retreats, mountain businesses, or any fan of alpine scenes. This photo is available as a canvas print, framed print, acrylic print, wood print, metal print, art print, and more. Licensing options are also available: see below.
