Description
Chicago--The Windy City. Incorporated in 1837, this city of 2.7 million is the third largest in the United States. Chicago is a finance, industry, transportation, and telecommunications hub; it is also famous for its unique architecture, art scene, and music scene. The city rises from the shores of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Chicago River. Chicago is home to such landmarks as the Willis (formerly Sears) tower, the John Hancock Center, Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, and Chicago Union Station.
Frigid is the best word to describe this night. With temperatures dropping to near-zero, I positioned the camera as low as possible to capture a reflection of the Chicago skyline in the ice that had formed along the breakwater. This creates a dazzling array of colors.
