Description
Panoramic photograph of Medicine Lake, downstream from Maligne Lake, in the Maligne Valley of Jasper National Park. Jasper is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, and is located in Alberta, approximately three hours west of Edmonton and six hours northwest of Calgary. Jasper is known for the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, its lakes, waterfalls, and mountains, and the the Athabasca River, which runs through much of the park. Near the center of the park is the town of Jasper, a popular ski and vacation destination.
During the blue hour, the sky, which is brighter than the surrounding mountainsides, reflects in the delta of the Maligne River and the surface of Medicine Lake. The patterns this creates can be seen at the bottom of this photo: ribbons of blue and turquoise through the dark mountain landscape. Fortunately, blue hour lasts for more like two hours during the longest days of the year in Jasper. The dark tones and subtle blues were truly beautiful on this evening.
This photo is ideal for climbers, backpackers, alpine retreats, mountain businesses, or any fan of alpine scenes. This photo is available as a canvas print, framed print, acrylic print, wood print, metal print, art print, and more. Licensing options are also available: see below.
