Description
Spring evening at Robson Meadows in the Canadian Rockies, near Valemount, British Columbia. Mount Robson, located in Mount Robson Provincial Park, is the highest peak in the region of the Canadian Rockies containing Jasper, Banff, Yoho, and Kootenay National Parks. Mount Robson boasts great vertical relief over the local terrain, as is evident in this photo. From Kinney Lake, the south-west side of the mountain rises 9,760 ft to the summit. The north face of Mount Robson is heavily glaciated and 2,600 ft of ice extends from the summit to Berg Glacier. The Berg Lake Trail begins at Robson Meadows, and is one of the most popular trails in the Canadian Rockies.
We were lucky enough to see some dramatic cloud formations around the summit of Mount Robson on this evening. Two days of rain and drizzle had obscured the summit, but the weather system cleared out at the end of the day I took this photo. The breaking rain showers framed the mountain face perfectly, with the spring lupines in full bloom and vibrant greens in the trees of Robson Meadow.
This photo is ideal for climbers, backpackers, alpine retreats, mountain businesses, or any fan of alpine scenes. This photo is available as a canvas print, framed print, acrylic print, wood print, metal print, art print, or greeting card. Licensing options are also available: see below.
