Description
The Mackinac Bridge, which connects Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas, was built between 1954 and 1957. At the time of its opening, it was the world's longest suspension bridge. Today, it has fallen to fifth, but is still an impressive site and will be a landmark in the United States for years to come.
In this photograph, a fog bank envelopes the Mackinac Bridge as it rolls through the Strait.
